Attained Perfection

There comes a certain point in the muscle-building process where you reach a 'threshold'... this guy right here I'd say is perhaps my perfection limit ... in that I think he's reached a level where he's achieved that hard to attain proportional level of perfection.

Awesomeness... I could almost swear if he were made out of marble he'd be a work of art ...

David Vance presents: Heavenly Bodies

Last year we had the great pleasure of paying a house call to a certain amazing art historian turned photographer... suffice to say I think we certainly enjoyed our stay ... This year though, I'm thinking we might be stepping out of the house just for a bit? How about taking a trip to the photographic stratosphere for a little while ...

...And meeting up with one of the photography world's icons, Miami-based photographer/artist David Vance (and a couple of his amazing friends ).

Perhaps you're somewhat familiar with some of David's past work from several issues of a popular Australian magazine?... or maybe you've had the opportunity to be amazed by some of the shots he's had to offer a little more recently for a fantastic French magazine?...

Well this year David returns with his own book Heavenly Bodies. A culmination of several years of work with dozens of models... encapsulated in 112 pages of what can only be described as photographic works of art. Drawing on his inspiration from mythology, sculptures and classical Greco-Roman art, David's new book focuses on the beauty of masculinity... accentuated with lighting, tones, and even full-blown fantastical settings as seen in the shots below.

Being that this is a book primarily focused on beautiful subjects, it only makes sense David compiled this latest project from his work with some of the most breathtaking models in the industry.... including Brian Levy, Lucas Angeloro, Levi Poulter, and of course Philip Fusco ...

Oh, and speaking of Philip Fusco... yes, I still stand by my previous statement. Hottest model of 2009 without a doubt ... Heavenly Bodies is being distributed by European publishing house Bruno Gmuender. It's slated for release in Europe later this month and here on American shores this June, but pre-order reserves are already available over at Tower Books, Amazon and Barnes and Noble.

The Beautiful Mystery

I believe I may have been enamored with this mysterious beauty below. Who is he?... and where did he come from?... I'm thinking perhaps the better question with this one might be 'when' is he from?... seeing as I kind of get the feeling this might be a vintage shot (although I may be mistaken).

He is absolutely beautiful though... Almost like a sculpture come to life only to be captured by a camera ... There's another NSFW version of him floating about... Not that I'd know anything about that of course . But yeah, perfection can be achieved at times... this guy for me is just one such example.

Edit: It's come to my attention that the identity of the photographer behind this amazing shot is none other than David Vance. The subject of this shot is a model named Michael Murphy and this photo was specifically taken for a book titled The Ultimate Book of Nudes (published way, way back in 1976).

To sleep in or not to sleep in...

So it's Sunday... and there's no errands to run. No 'pressing matters' to attend to and thankfully no work. Basically I have nothing to do today for once (well maybe a little blogging but that's about it)... what's a guy to do ...

To sleep in or not to sleep in... that is the dilemma I guess. Hm, I wonder what advice Mr. open bathrobe here would give ...

Serenity Now

So peaceful, so quiet... so, uh... serene?... yeah that's it ...

I don't know... the first thing that comes to mind when I look at this shot is just peacefulness (one would hope that's a given seeing as chaotic sleep is a little harder to photograph ). But yeah, I just get the sense of a serene Sunday morning (perhaps sometime in the midst of summer?)... Ok a summer Sunday morning where you just feel like sleeping in with nothing to do later in the day... the sun shining brightly outside, the warmth blazing down on the contours of your beautiful back... sun - just - blazing, on contours - of - beaut... ok, I'll just stop there before this turns into one of my wacky fantasies .

When Irish eyes are beautiful...

"When Irish eyes are smiling, sure, 'tis like the morn in Spring. In the lilt of Irish laughter, you can hear the angels sing. When Irish hearts are happy, all the world seems bright and gay. And when Irish eyes are smiling, sure, they steal your heart away..."

Quite an appropriate song I think for this Just Beautiful example of Irish perfection ...

Presenting 21 year-old model/full-time student Patrick F... Quite easily one of the most perfect examples of Irish beauty currently in the business.

Although Patrick's versatility and natural good looks may be standard prerequisites for any successful model... Patrick is anything but standard. Juggling three jobs, working out 5 days a week, finishing school and all the while pursuing a career in the film industry is no easy feat. Driven to succeed, is perhaps how I'd best describe Patrick.

And thus far, I'd say the fruits of his determination are looking quite fantastic ... Perhaps even more so, having gone through the skilful hands of Photographer J Cassoni... (you might recall Mr. Cassoni as having knocked everyone's socks off with his work over at Fantasticsmag )

Irish men (in my opinion at least) are some of the most beautiful men in the world. And Patrick here is just one stellar example of that. You can check out more shots of Irish beauty Patrick over at Ohlalamag's exhibition of Waleed Said's photography.

Charlie's an Angel

That's such an amazing effect... It's like there's a necklace just floating against the wall. Plus a pair of sexy playboy pants . Oh, and a patch of hair... just floating there... hmm... Wait a minute, there's a model against that wall isn't there .

Almost didn't notice him there for a second (what with that chameleon-like attempt at camouflage ). Not that I'm complaining of course, this guy's a picture perfect hottie for sure.

Introducing a new model beauty from out west in LA, 20 year-old Charlie G. W.

Charlie currently works as a professionally trained dancer. Specifically what type of dancing he does I'm not sure... but from the looks of his perfectly proportioned body, I'd say his work is more than likely quite physically intensive.

And transitioning from dancing to modeling apparently looks to have been seamless for Charlie. You'd almost think he's been at it for years, but just judging from these amazing shots taken by photographer Ray Garcia, the guy looks to have incredible potential.

Can't wait to see what Charlie comes up with in the upcoming months. I love his toned (but not overly so) look... just gorgeous...
